Fish may change depths and be more likely to bite when the barometric pressure is either rising or falling! Some physiological evidence supports this. Nearly all fish have a swim bladder, an inflated air sac that helps the fish to maintain neutral buoyancy in the water. This air sac, particularly in small-bodied fishes, is very sensitive to changes in atmospheric pressure. When barometric pressure drops, the swim bladder inflates slightly from the reduced pressure. An inflated swim bladder may be uncomfortable, causing the fish to swim deeper to higher pressures where they feel better.
